The word Ayurveda stems from two Sanskrit words: 'Ayur' - meaning life and 'Veda' - meaning knowledge i.e. the knowledge and/or science of life.
Ayurveda offers a holistic, individual approach to wellness. Originating in India, where it has been practiced for over 5,000 years, it is a wellness modality that can be applied in today's modern times.
Ayurveda aims to treat the root cause of dis-ease to restore harmony and balance to the mind, body and spirit. It takes into account all aspects of one's life and offers knowledge about your mind, emotions, senses, body and relationships - not only with yourself, but also with others and with the environment.
